My work is based on the mathematical division of the plane. I also consider myself a colorist. I explore pattern manipulations and the point where pattern turns to noise. Since my source files are based upon real things my paintings have their own sense of space and tangibility. I work in oil on canvas.
Update: I have started doing figurative work. Still a champion of delirium, I am re-purposing the second greatest force on the internet into artwork. Still guided by the same principles. |

Doug Angleton is a painter and digital artist who lives and works in Brooklyn.
He was born in San Diego, California and grew up in Los Angeles. He went to Art
School on both coasts, and has had two non- art related careers before committing
to Painting.
His work is abstract, dealing with issues of pattern relations, color, and
the tendency we have to impose order. His paintings are done from Photoshop
digital files which also stand as a body of work. Even though the design process is
similar for all his work, the results vary, sometimes giving the impression of a sense
of place where the rules are not those of earthbound places. Sometimes the work
speaks of rhythm , and most especially where the beat is brightest or broken.
Doug also composes poetry and letters a poem around the edge of every large
painting . He does this to fulfill more completely his urge for creation, and tuck
away some commentary about everyday life to stowaway aboard his art.
He encourages all people to support living artists. Nameste.
