Dr. Michael Durst is one of the most exciting artists in South Africa. He strives to achieve a delicate balance between the realism of the scene and the even greater intensity created by light, texture and color. At that point, an integration occurs. The captured moment in time is taken in without judgment by the brain, allowing the vibrational intensity to adjust the frequency of the heart’s rhythms. As the integrated process continues, the viewer becomes awash with positive emotions, a sense of peace, and greater coherence…all of which contribute to physical, mental and spiritual healing. Dr. Durst has had several solo exhibitions in Cape Town, which have earned him rave reviews and international recognition. His paintings have won numerous awards, including “Best of Show,” and are in private collections in England, Scotland, Turkey, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Chile, Canada, the United States and South Africa. Last year, he exhibited twice at the Ico Gallery in New York's Chelsea area.
