My work is about the exploration of what is real and the nature of human perception. While creating art I manipulate certain aspects of the piece to give the illusion of space and form to something that normally would not have it. By doing this I create a visual metaphor for the tangible and intangible world around us.How real is the world we live in and is thier something more to our existence than the physical. I personally feel that your reality is relative to your perception and that thier is way more to our existense than what we see taste hear smell and feel, but it is up to the viewer to decide for themselves. |

Rashid Cornish was born and raised in Baltimore,Md. He has been creating artwork all of his life even winning an award from the Cloysters Children museum at age ten. He received his first formal training at the age of fourteen when he attended the Baltimore School for the Arts. Upon graduating from BSFA Rashid attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After a Semester at the Institute he transferred to The School of Visual Arts where he continued to explore some of his personal work. Rashid currently resides in Brooklyn, Ny and is working as a fine artist. |
