Statement :   Working by accumulation or scratching until the void is revealed, Amandine Lepoutre, a Parisian artist, unveils the micro world that any library endeavors to implement, the paradox that lies in any collection, as it simultaneously operates a reunion and a distinction.

Each canvas explores a different state, where geometries and emotions congregate in perspective and colors, where lines meet or clash, erupting or blurred in their confrontation. In the always evolving micro world, relationships are engaged or severed, as dust-ups or showdowns.
Erupting fusion of mind and matter, inflexible hardbacks, written in black ink or scratched in blood, her pages are confessions, diaries, or upstanding,
uncompromised, ledgers. Using the books as an axis, the series captures the never ending motion of the library, bound to decompose as it is composed.

Parisian painter borne in 1978, Amandine Lepoutre’s libraries thus appear as a series of visions of the world, framed or broken up by the sharp perspectives of the bindings and shelving, by the circulation of colors, emotions and materials, and by the confrontation of lines. The artist’s images show the contradiction between figurative objects and abstract painting.
